Under selection pressure, this species becomes parthenogenic

Pharyngula::A damsel that doesn't need any knights: But why is this? If it is harder to find a mate, and
the cost of looking for a mate exceeds that of simply reproducing by cloning, then some species
will do that. I am not sure why this is important, but it seems like a metaphor for
something.
