radios cooperate to communicate

Center for Wireless Technology
is working on "smart" radios to form cognitive networks.
I have see discussions of using WI-FI to form networks for communication
bypasses in disaster situations. But I have never heard discussion
of both GNU Radio and cognitive engines in this context.

CWT’s approach is that, “The new cognitive radios are similar to living creatures in that they
are aware of their surroundings and understand their own and their user’s capabilities and the governing
social constraints,” said Center director Charles W. Bostian, Alumni Distinguished Professor of Electrical and
Computer Engineering.
